Merry Christmas All
I just thought i’d jump on for a bit this morning to make sure and wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and hope you all have a safe and happy holiday. This day is going to be quite busy for me as I’m one of those last minute shoppers and have quite a bit to get done yet. I tell myself each year I’ll get the shopping done early but it never seems to happen. I think i get a thrill from the last minute rush to the stores seeking out that perfect gift. Actually I’m much further ahead this year as like many I’ve been doing more and more shopping online these days. I still havnt quite been sold on the entire online shopping experience. Its just missing that excitement you get when driving around town trying to get to the next mall before it closes on Christmas eve. Perhaps they will come out with some sort of changes in the next few years that could bring more fun and excitement to shopping for christmas gifts online. I’d do it all at ebay but I find their prices on new items arnt nearly as competitive as those i can find locally or at other online stores. Anyway have to run cars all warmed up and bad weather is on the way. Again Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
Might Be Getting Layoff notice
Oh well I knew with the way the economy has been sooner or later it might impact me. I’m pretty sure i’ll be getting a layoff notice shortly so I’ve decided to start looking at a career change. The only jobs that seem to be in high demand in my area are for nurses, nursing assistance, certified nursing technician an other medical related positions. I’m not sure how well I’d do at being a nurse I’ve never really had much interest in becoming involved in the medical field but it seems to be the best solution for a career change at my age. I’ve looked at many of the indiana nursing schools and seems there are quite a few alternative to being a nurse that can be done without having a full blown college degree. I have considered a couple of the options such as becoming an emergency medical technician, paramedic and even a medical lab technician. I’ve never really had much exposure to anything in the whole nursing field but i’m willing to give it a shot. I’ve sent requests out for information about several of these to local schools and right now I think starting out as an EMT is going to be my best option as the local volunteer fire department is willing to pay for the classes so that I can get started. If I find out I like being involved in the medical areana I will consider possibly becoming a nurse or paramedic down the road.
Why Deer Hunting Isn’t Right For Everyone
I figured since its getting to be that time of season where the minds of outdoorsmen turns to hunting. I’m no exception, I was killing time at work during lunch and ran across this funny video about a time when Bill Engvall takes his wife deer hunting with him. Now I know many women out there hunt and love the outdoors, well his wife isnt’ one of them and neither is mine so I found this extremely funny. Have a look see for your self before you decide to go out and buy your wife a new or used Mathews compound bow
.
Now That’s What I’m Talking About
Now this was the type of salmon fishing I want to be doing. I’m not sure where this guy was fly fishing but it looks beautiful. I’ve never actually been fly fishing for salmon but it’s on my list of things to do this year. I’ve taken up fly fishing some of the local ponds in my area and hit a few streams for small mouth bass, but no salmon or trout fishing anywhere close to my neck of the woods. Check out this guys nice catch.
If your looking to take a fly fishing trip or fishing vacation you can find a great deal on new and used fly fishing combo for sale here
Why You Don’t Salmon Fish Around Whales
I was surfing through youtube checking out differnet fishing videos since I’m planning a salmon fishing trip and wanted some tips. Just in case you ever decide to go salmon fishing in Alaska definately watch out for the whales. These guys know first hand what that’s like.
Sick Of Politics Already
I don’t know about anyone else out there in the online world but I’ve about had it with politics for the year. All this bickering between Obama, McCain, Biden and Palin has gotten to be rediculas. I’m sure this is politics as usual but sure seems like a bunch of petty squabling over non issues this year. In my opinion it really doesn’t matter who wins as the national debt, state of the economy and on going war on terrorism is going to pretty much dictate what their agenda will be. When it comes down to it the President has little impact anyway, its congress that screws the pooch for all of us. I’d sure like to see some elected officals actually do something in congress besides give themselves raises, pack bills full of juicey pork and pass the buck to the next generation, wishfull thinking I know.
Oops I did It Again
Maybe I’m just not cut out to be putting my thoughts down on paper. I’ve owned this site now for several year and havn’t done squat with it. Maybe I can get motivated enough now to do something with it. Thanks goodness I dont do this kind of stuff for a living or I’d be dead broke by now. Anyway little updated on my family. The oldest is in her second year of college, middle daughter is in her senior year of high school and the youngest my boy is a freshman. The oldest really hasn’t decided what to do with her life and is bouncing around between several differnt majors. Man I hope she makes up her mind soon this is getting expensive. The middle daughter has become quite the vocal star and has won several awards throughout high school for her beautiful voice. She’s getting ready to visit colleges, apply for scholarships and audition for local theatre and choir groups. I think her goal is to continue and pursue classical singing in her college career. As for the boy well he’s a boy. Loves sports, girls and general goofing around. He’s starting up swimming this month for the high school team. Hopefully he’ll be able to make the varsity but I doubt it as a freshman. Well that’s a general roundup of the family. I’ll try to keep this site updated for a change.
Where has Jon Been
Well as you can see I haven’t updated this site in quite some time. I originally bought it to record family events, share pictures of or vacations and discuss whatever happens to be on my mind at the time. I just recently remembered I had this site when I noticed a strang charge on my credit card. So much for keeping good records, lol. Anyway I think I’ll start using the site as I had originally intended. Just and update over the last few years my family and I have traveled to Cooperstown, Pigeon Forge, Smoky Mountain National Park, Sleeping Bear Sand dunes and several other beautiful campgrounds throught the US. I hope to get some pictures of our family outings up in the next few days.
